before boarding the bus to bato, i had heavy breakfast at apple tree. so when i reached argao in cebu around noon, i was still full. i then walked around the town's heritage plaza before asking someone where's the best torta in town. i first asked a teener and she said it's chitang's. i then asked a tricycle driver and he also mentioned chitang's. so off i went to chitang's!
la torta de argao from chitang's is such a wonderful treat! they said that its distinct taste is due to bahalina or tuba. it is spongy but with smooth texture and has since become synonymous to argao. they even hold torta festival annually. till next time, argao!
