malunggay

the past week was all about trackers and the wonder gulay - the mighty malunggay!!! i normally do my grocery on sundays, but last week i did it on a monday. and for the first time in my almost 10 years in makati, i chanced upon malunggay in a grocery! out of this 18 pesos bungkos, i was able to do three different dishes. first was a simple veggie soup (below), with ground pork and young corn. then i cooked my very first pinakbet - ampalaya, eggplant, sitaw, squash, okra, topped with malunggay and bagoong. the rest was for sauteed veggie, a mix of togue, sitsaro and malunggay again!

with another long weekend due to the national elections on monday, what kind of gulay dish will i have? i don't mind having another malunggay treat, especially now that i already got used to the tedious process of de-leafing the malunggay bungkos. (",)
