Iloilo

in and around iloilo city!

since it was good friday, the streets of iloilo city were almost empty, except for a number of street vendors and some locals. the city has 7 districts, famous former towns such as jaro, molo, la paz, mandurriao and iloilo city proper, as well as arevalo and lapuz. except as part of jeepney stops, i wasn't able to go around jaro, molo and la paz, with dad and i staying in iloilo city proper. we had a nice seafood dinner somewhere in arevalo beachside, while also having some few drinks in mandurriao's smallville.

a highly urbanized city, iloilo feels like cebu city and downtown manila, minus the filthy backstreets (at least i haven't seen one during this trip). while dumaguete and bacolod cities top my list of favorite big cities to go to in western visayas, our trip in iloilo was a nice one... massage, cheap thrills, good food and good old charm.
